Cuba’s tourism company Habaguanex S.A. announced the opening of the Marques de Prado Ameno hotel in Habana Vieja Cuba, a World Cultural Heritage.
A report by the Cuban Tourism Ministry “MINTUR” says the refurbished hotel will be located close to the Plaza de Armas Square and the Catedral de la Habana. It was named after a prominent family that lived in the colonial house, built in the 19th century that will now receive tourists from around of the world.
The four star Cuban hotel will have 16 rooms, including three suites and 13 standard rooms, each decorated with restored murals from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Habaguanex is leading the restoration project of the hotels located along the Havana Malecon waterfront seawall and road that began earlier this year with the opening of the Neruda Cafe and the Tapas Lava Dia Bar.
The tourism company was created in 1994 and it was named after a Cuban cacique that ruled in the western area of the island.
Currently, Habaguanex runs twenty hotels, thirty restaurants, sixty cafeterias and bars and more than eighty retail shopping stores in Havana.
