Varadero Cuba since 1887

Cuba’s major beach resort, Varadero, located in the western province of Matanzas, will be 118 years old in December.

Founded officially on December 5, 1887, the resort offers 20 kilometers of excellent beaches and 51 hotels, totaling 14,927 rooms.

In 2004, Varadero received 826,000 foreign vacationers, thus becoming the sixth top tourist destination in the Caribbean.

In addition to beach and sun options, which account for 86 percent of the resort’s offers, Varadero also provides other services, including events and incentives (4 percent), health tourism (2 percent) and diving activities (six percent).

Travelers to Varadero mainly come from Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom, who account for 72 percent of foreign vacationers visiting the resort.

According to tourist authorities, new establishments will be inaugurated this year, including the hotels Blau Varadero and Barcel´┐Ż Marina Premium.

I come from There.The article fall short far of saying that
Varadero is One of the top 5 beaches in the World Acapulco,
Copacabana,Cancun have nothing more better than Varadero.I
know Cancun and it is marvelous,but for me,Varadero is better,
However many things,pivotal ones,have to change in the code
of cuban tourism,and the first is Nationals come first,tourist
come after and by no means,that means neglected tourist service,very professional in all of aspects of Tourism,but
stressing the concept Nationals aqre the first,foreigners the
second,In Cuba is The opposite.
