A new air route was inaugurated between the Cuban beach resort of Jardines del Rey (King’s Gardens), located on the northern keys off Ciego de Avila province, and the French capital.
Starting this month, a weekly flight will link the two destinations, turning Paris into the first French city to benefit from a direct air connection with the Cuban resort.
The route will be covered by a Boeing 747 plane operated by French airline Corsair, as part of an initiative boosted by the tour operator Nouvelles Frontier/TUI.
Experts expect the new air link to contribute to further promoting the attractions of Jardines del Rey in France, a country that receives more than 60 million vacationers a year.
In addition, Nouvelles Frontier/TUI will open a Club Palladien at the Sol Cayo Guillermo Hotel, owned by the Cuban chain Gran Caribe and run by the Spanish consortium Sol Meliá.
At present, the Jardines del Rey International Airport, located on Cayo Coco, receives directs flights from Canada, Germany, Italy, Great Britain and Argentina, among other major tourist markets.
