Authorities from Cuban leisure industry, a key sector in the Caribbean Island’s economy, have announced new structural changes to boost the development of tourism.

In statements to reporters in this capital, Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero informed about the creation of a shopping network under the name of Caracol.

He added that Transtur would be responsible for transportation, while Emprestur will be in charge of maintenance, improvement and gardening.

Palmares, a company that will run recreational centers, restaurants, golf courses and dolphinariums, will carry out extrahotel activities.

The strategy will also strengthen the work of travel agencies with an eye to improving the quality of the tourist offers.

In that regard, services provided by the agencies Rumbos Cuba and Viajes Gran Caribe will be taken over by Cubatur and Viajes Cubanacán.
