Havana.- The Nacional de Cuba Hotel, owned by the Cuban group Gran Caribe, was chosen the best hotel in the world by the 4th Survey.

Respondents voted for 194 establishments, including the Nacional de Cuba, which is the Caribbean Island’s flag hotel.

The hotel, declared World Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), finished in the third position in the previous Survey.

On this occasion, the Nacional de Cuba displaced the La Mamounia Hotel (Marrakech, Morocco), while the Ritz Hotel (Paris) took the third position.

The Nacional de Cuba Hotel has more than 400 rooms (including 16 suites and a Presidential suite), an executive floor, Internet cafe and several bars, restaurants, cafeterias, shops, Cigar House and the Parisien Cabaret.

With a decades-old history, the hotel has received outstanding politicians, such as British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and world-renowned artists like Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Marķa Felix and Jorge Negrete.

Hotel Nacional in Cuba better than the Ritz in Paris. That’ really something to be proud of.

I was there twice on my recent business trip to Havana. Read about my travels and see some great photos at the top of the main page.
