Havana.- The resort of San Diego, in western Pinar del Río province, will complement its offer of medicinal waters with new cultural options.

With that goal, a library and a recently opened art gallery, where local artists exhibit their works, opened in that resort.

The exhibit consists of landscapes and paintings about San Diego’s history, the main topic of a book that was first published in 1959 and that will be republished soon in Spanish and English.

The resort is one of the main spots in Cuba for health tourism and is visited by over 5,000 national and foreign vacationers every year.

Surrounded by three hotels, San Diego has three pools with thermal waters rich in sulfur, and is staffed by an experienced medical team. The region has large reserves of mud, which is used to treat osseous and dermatological diseases.
