Havana.- Jardines del Rey, a major destination in eastern Ciego de Avila province, is betting on culture as one of its options for the peak tourist season.

As part of that strategy, Jardines del Rey will host a Cuban music festival and a symposium on environmental culture this year.

Both meetings will be attended by world-renowned experts, so they will contribute to promoting autochthonous values and attracting vacationers interested in Cuba.

The marble sculptures exhibited at the event on environmental culture will decorate Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, where 3,200 rooms are available for foreign tourists.

A Steam Locomotive Festival, which involves other Cuban provinces, is scheduled for November to promote the preservation and exploitation of the island’s railroad heritage.
