Jardines del Rey Receives 100,000 Foreign Vacationers

Havana.- The Jardines del Rey tourist region, in Cuba’s eastern Ciego de Avila province, had received 100,000 foreign vacationers until June 2003, during the ongoing tourist season.

According to sources from the tourist sector, from January to June, Jardines del Rey had revenues of 60 million dollars, while profits exceeded 15 million dollars.

Canada, which has been the most stable source of vacationers over the past 10 years, contributed 50 percent of travelers who visited Jardines del Rey during the said period.

Results also showed successful hotel management, since the resort has 3,300 of the country’s 40,000 rooms.

In addition, Jardines del Rey employs 5,600 workers in an industry that provides jobs to 100,000 workers all over the country.

Jardines del Rey’s offer is based on comfortable hotels, excellent beaches and exuberant nature, in addition to cultural and historic attractions.
