DTC News.- Foreign Delegates to Attend EXPOBUCEO’2003

Havana.- The largest Antillean Island this month will host the 1st International Meeting EXPOBUCEO’2003, which is closely linked to the leisure industry.

Experts from a dozen countries have confirmed participation in the meeting on diving, which will be held in the beach resort of Varadero, in western Matanzas province.

The program of EXPOBUCEO’2003 includes master lectures by Cuban professionals working in the tourist sector and by world-renowned personalities in the field of diving.

As part of the discussions, participants will debate on Cuba’s diving sites, development plans, medicine and cave diving.

Moreover, delegates will enjoy visits to diving sites such as María La Gorda (Pinar del Río), Santa Lucía (Camagüey), and Playa Larga and Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs), the two latter in Matanzas.

According to the latest classification by the World Tourism Organization, Cuba ranks among the world’s 27 major diving destinations.
