The Occidental Miramar Hotel, located in the Havana residential neighborhood of the same name, was officially upgraded to the four-star category.

The certificate was granted at a ceremony attended by officials from Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism and executives from the group Occidental in the Caribbean Island.

According to experts, the upgrade is part of the process being carried out by the National Commission for Classification of Tourist Establishments to upgrade the category of hotels and restaurants.

The regulating agency verifies the correspondence between quality standards and true results reported by the establishments.

Experts also monitor the establishment’s compliance with sanitary and hygienic regulations, as well as the quality of the inputs they use.

In addition, El Patio Restaurant, which belongs to the hotel, was upgraded to the Four Forks category, as an acknowledgement of its high-quality services and gastronomic offers.
