Havana.- A new marina will start up operations soon in the Guanacahabibes Peninsula, in western Pinar del Río province.

Construction works are near completion, so the Cabo de San Antonio Marina will render its services to ships sailing in the region.

Among the construction works are a 200-meter pier and an 80-meter causeway, which will allow ships to dock in the marina.

For the time being, the marina have migration checkpoints, a bar and other facilities for crew and vacationers, including fuel and lubricant supplies to boats, and shops selling handicrafts, rum and cigars.

The marina, located in one of the world’s major maritime routes, will be able to receive 100 to 300 boats a day.
