Moon Spotlight Havana

First Edition By Christopher P. Baker

Cuba has long been an inaccessible travel destination for Americans. But as U.S. restrictions on travel to Cuba begin to loosen, those with family members in Cuba are finally able to visit this fascinating Caribbean nation. Moon Spotlight Havana is perfect for those heading to Cuba’s bustling capital for the first time. This compact but focused guide captures this intriguing city where old-fashioned glamor meets modern politics and culture.

This lightweight, easy-to-carry guide offers helpful travel information and the unique perspective of award-winning travel writer Christopher P. Baker. Highlights include:

• A round-up of retro-1950s grande dame hotels and five-star restaurants
• Ideas for humble, home-based eating options and room rentals
• Walking tours through Havana’s most interesting neighborhoods, such as The Prado, Calle Obispo, and Plaza Vieja
• 21 detailed and easy-to-use maps
• Background information on Havana’s fascinating history, architecture, and culture

This Moon Spotlight guide has been excerpted from the upcoming 5th edition of Moon Cuba (available November 2010) and contains up-to-date information on U.S. Law and travel to Cuba, immigration and customs, and advice on getting there and navigating around.

About MOON Spotlight

Moon Spotlight guides are affordable, lightweight guides covering smaller geographic regions than the Moon Handbooks or Outdoors guidebooks series. The travel content in Spotlight guides is pulled directly from individual chapters of larger Handbooks or Outdoors titles, with no introductory information (such as When to Go or Planning Your Trip), no indexes, and fewer pages. The results are focused, compact guides to popular destinations, providing travelers with what they need to explore a specific locale in-depth.

Jodee sent me a copy and I am very impressed as I always am with Moon and Christopher Baker books. They offer a great mix of depth yet are laid out in a such a way that the reader can find the information that interests him or her easily. The Moon handbooks by Christopher Baker are by far the best Cuba guidebooks and this is not a paid advertisement grin
