Melia Cuba will open the Meliá Marina Varadero this summer at the tip of the Hicacos Peninsula.

This will be the 26th hotel managed by Melia Cuba.

The Marina Varadero will be an all inclusive, five star resort with 549 rooms, 126 of which will be offered as condominium or apartment units. (The news release was not clear if these would be offered for sale.)

The one or two bedroom or studio apartments are fully furnished and ready for occupancy. The hotel will offer the “Level Floor” which will be a luxury space with 88 rooms and concierge service.

Some of the highlights of this new resort are spectacular views of the Marina Gaviota Punta Hicacos, six restaurants, 8 food and drink bars, four pools, a kids club, boardwalk with direct access to the beach, day spa, a wedding gazebo and five multipurpose banquet halls and two large meeting rooms. There will be also a waterfront commercial shopping center with night clubs, stores, a game arcade, scuba diving center, catamaran sailboat terminal and marina services for boats.

Located across from the Marina Punta Hicacos, the hotel is just 15 minutes from the Varadero bridge and 40 minutes from the Varadero International Airport.

The hotel will have amenities international travelers would expect such as:

24-hour telephone and fax service, Wifi
Car Rental
Concierge Service (24 hrs)
Crafts and souvenir shop
Facilities for physically disabled persons
Foreign currency exchange
Laundry service
Non-smoking areas
