A series of events are being held at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, the flag establishment in the Island’s tourist industry, to commemorate its 75th anniversary.

Inaugurated in December 1930, the five-star hotel has 457 rooms, including 27 suites, in addition to an executive floor.

The hotel’s amenities are complemented by excellent gastronomy, especially at the Salon Comedor de Aguiar, which serves the favorite dishes ordered by some of the world-renowned personalities who have stayed at the hotel.

In addition, La Veranda Restaurant is a smorgasbord where the tablecloths are decorated with paintings by renowned Cuban artists.

Among the prominent guests who have stayed at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba are British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and the artists Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Johnny Weissmuller, Mara Felix, Jorge Negrete and Robert Redford.

According to experts, the establishment has a privileged location in the Havana neighborhood of El Vedado, on top of a hill that overlooks the shoreline.
