Havana.- Holguín, a fast-growing tourist destination in eastern Cuba, expects to receive 9,000 visitors a week during the ongoing peak tourist season.
According to experts, Holguín’s international airport will receive nearly 50 flights a week, so they predict an increase in tourist arrivals in the region.
Until late January, 16 airlines from 20 cities in eight countries had flown to Holguín, which reported a hotel occupancy rate of 80 percent that month.
Tourism authorities pointed out that if this growing trend continues like that, the region is in conditions to improve efficiency indicators.
Holguín has a comfortable hotel infrastructure and provides healthy and safe tourism.
