Havana’s Historic Heart, famous all over the world, will benefit from the services of a new hotel that is scheduled to open in the second semester of 2005.

The five-star Saratoga Hotel, owned by the company Habaguanex S.A., will be inaugurated in September, thus increasing the number of rooms available for foreign tourists in Old Havana.

Hotel executives pointed out that the establishment will offer 96 rooms – including seven suites – distributed in seven floors, since the top floor will hold the swimming pool and lookout.

They added that the building’s architectural style resembles that from the Spanish colonial period, and includes a large number of attractive elements such as French carpentry, ceramic tiles and Cuban marble.

The most attractive room is the 100-square-meter Suite Havana, which is equipped with all modern amenities guests may need.

The Saratoga Hotel will be run by Habaguanex S.A., which owns tourist establishments housed in restored buildings from the Spanish colonial period, thus allowing vacationers to be closely linked to the history and traditions of old sector of the Cuban capital.
