Havana.- Jardines del Rey, a tourist destination in Ciego de Avila’s north keys, is expected to report good results during the ongoing peak tourist season.

According to sources from the tourism sector, predictions are based on advertising campaigns to promote that destination in other countries, in addition to the enlargement of the region’s extra-hotel infrastructure.

Starting this month, Cayo Coco’s Máximo Gomez International Airport will receive an average of 25 flights a week, thus guaranteeing the arrival of 4,500 vacationers every week.

Most flights (80 percent) will come from Montreal and Toronto, in Canada, while other airlines will take off from Great Britain, Germany and Italy.
Jardines del Rey’s excellent tourist product, made up of the area’s natural wonders, excellent services and safety, has made that region a favorite destination for foreign vacationers.

For that reason, experts predict that 100,000 foreign travelers will arrive in Jardines del Rey from November 2003 to March 2004.
