Havana.- Las Terrazas Community, in Cuba’s westernmost province, Pinar del Río, has favorable conditions to create an ecological museum.

According to experts, the initiative will allow integrating environmental attractions into the patrimonial museum in Las Terrazas.

The project will include the Hotel La Moka, the community, the ruins of 19th-century French-Haitian coffee farms and cultural facilities.

This way, experts said, visitors will get first-hand information about the results of rural development based on tourism, which involves 60 percent of the local population.

Precisely, the Hotel La Moka is an example of the interrelation between architecture and nature in Las Terrazas, where an initiative to boost sustainable tourism is being implemented.
