DTC News.- New Hotel to Open Soon in Cayo Largo del sur

Havana.- Construction workers are building a hotel in Cayo Largo de Sur, a major tourist destination in southwestern Cuba.

The 306-room Barcelo Cayo Largo Beach Resort Hotel is a property of the Group Gran Caribe and will be run by the Spanish chain Barcelo.
According to experts, damages caused by three hurricanes during construction have delayed the completion of the works.

For that reason, construction works have lasted over 40 months, instead of the originally planned 24 months. This situation has caused an increase in costs.

The construction of the hotel has combined traditional building systems and state-of-the-art technologies. The establishment is expected to open this month with 218 rooms.
