Havana | Jardines del Rey, a tourist resort in Cuba’s eastern province of Ciego de Avila, received the number one-million vacationer this month, ten years after its inauguration.

Jardines del Rey, made up of Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, has reported a high occupancy rate in its 3,300 rooms over the past few days.

According to experts, this trend is influenced by regular arrivals of vacationers from Canada, Italy, Germany and Great Britain.

Doreen and Bert Jones, a couple from Ontario, were number one million. They have visited Cuba 29 times since 1978, although they have stayed in other destinations, including Varadero, Holgun and Santiago de Cuba.
Jardines del Rey is one of Cuba’s fastest-growing destinations due to its natural attractions and well-preserved ecosystems.
