JANUARY
1 - Cuba Liberation Day or anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution
28 - José Martí birth date - Born January 28, 1853 and died in a battle for Cuba’s independence from Spain on May 19, 1895. This renowned poet and writer is considered to be a Cuba’s national hero.
FEBRUARY
mid February - The Annual Havana Jazz Festival - One of Cuba’s most famous music events is this Havana Jazz Festival that features music that’s a fusion of Cuban rhythms with jazz.

mid February - Havana International Book Fair - Famous Cuban writer and philosopher Alejo Carpentier started this book fair many years ago and now attracts tens of thousands of people every year.
late February - Habanos Festival where all Cuban cigar brands are represented. The official website for Cuban cigar Festival del Habano.
MARCH
late March to early April, every other year - Habana Biennial Cuban art show.
APRIL
mid April- International Low-Budget Film Festival in Gibara, Holguín. Here are the awards for the Gibara film festival.
April 17, 1961 - Approximately 1,300 Cuban exiles landed at Playa Giron in the Bay of Pigs to overthrow Fidel Castro. The invasion was over in three days.

1 - May Day - International Workers Day or Labor Day

late October to early November - International Havana Ballet Festival and Havana Theatre Festival
NOVEMBER
early November - MARABANA Marathon in Havana - Start Shot 7:00 am
November to December - If you were in Havana Cuba during these months in 1947, according to the Havana Weekly magazine, you would have had a very exciting week of visiting sporting events, night clubs and casinos in Havana.
DECEMBER
early December - New Latin American International Film Festival and Habana Film Festival
