Revolution leader Fidel Castro and Cuban President Raul Castro met separately with Bolivian statesman Evo Morales, who carried out a working visit to the island.

Morales and Fidel Castro held “a lively and fraternal meeting Thursday, in which the two leaders exchanged on relations between both nations, Cuba’s solidarity with the Andean brother country and the regional situation,” the island’s TV prime-time newscast reported.

In their two-hour talk, the visiting statesman expressed gratitude for the presence in his country of several Cuban health and education collaborators, stated a note read on the same TV news program.

The head of State also highlighted Fidel Castro’s permanent concern for supporting the Bolivian people to fight for justice and development.

The TV report showed images of the previous meeting between Morales and Raul Castro, in which both presidents talked on the current situation in both country, the development of bilateral links, and other issues of regional and international interest.

Raul Castro ratified Morales’ solidarity and Cuba’s unshakable support of the Bolivian people and government, the text stressed.

Vice President Carlos Lage, Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque, Cuban ambassador to Bolivia Rafael Daussa, and Bolivian Deputy Minister of Government Coordination Hector Arce attended the meeting.

Not sure what the reason was that Evo came to visit. I haven’t heard any recent rumors that Fidel has died so they didn’t need to bring him in to “prove” that Fidel is alive.

I don’t think Morales would lie and say that he met with Fidel.

Why the meeting?

No pictures of Fidel though… interesting.

I guess they are letting Fidel the man quietly fade away. Who knows maybe Raul has him locked away.

Anyway, my prediction about the death of Fidel Castro being on page 3 of Granma looks like it might be coming true.

They have designed the transition masterfully and the death of Fidel Castro will only be a celebration in Cuba, not a reason for chaos.

I still think there is some chance for chaos in Cuba after the death of Fidel but I think that chance has been minimized.
