Indian Parliamentary delegation leaves for Cuba

After almost two decades, an Indian Parliamentary delegation, led by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Saturday left for Cuba to hold wide-ranging talks with their counterparts there.

The delegation would hold discussions with the President of the Cuban National Assembly, Ricardo Alarcon de Queseda, Foreign Relations Minister Felipe Perez Roque and senior leaders of the ruling Cuban Communist Party, a Lok Sabha Secretariat release said.

During the five-day stay in the Latin American country, Chatterjee would also inaugurate the Rabindranath Tagore Library at the Asia House in Havana.

The nine-member delegation, which is visiting the country after 19 years, also includes Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary.
