Youth Network “Raíces” Presents “Cuba Libre: Your Greatest Desire”
Raíces de Esperanza, a network of young professionals and students in solidarity with youth in Cuba, screened the film “Cuba Libre: Your Greatest Desire” at Casa Bacardí in the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies (ICCAS) on July 12th. “Cuba Libre” chronicles the story of the Varela Project. The EU Reaches out to Cuba but Concerns over Human Rights Remain
On June 18th, the European Union (EU) Council reached out to the Cuban government, inviting a delegation to Brussels for open political dialogue on the condition that they discuss human rights. Cuban Dissident Groups in Spain meet with Spanish Government
On June 19th, the Spanish Foreign Affairs Ministry met with a number of Cuban dissident groups based in Madrid. The main objective of the meeting with the Director General for Latin America, Javier Sandomingo, was to explain the rationale behind the government’s strategy to open a dialogue with the Cuban authorities.
