Two words with a world of meaning behind them!

How many people in Chicago buy a Washington paper to get the latest news? The situation in Cuba affords a good parallel. Havana is the capital of the Island, but separated by hours of travel, even by airplane, from Santiagoósecond largest city in Cuba and center of business activity for almost a third of the Island’s population.

People are always more inclined to purchase goods advertised in the “Home Town” paper than those presented only through National advertising. The appeal is more directóthere is a personal touch to it.

In Santiago and throughout Oriente province “Diario de Cuba” is the “Home Town” paper and has been for several decades. Ask any authority on Cuban publications and they will tell you to use “Diario de Cuba”.
