Shipload of Soviet Aircraft Nears Cuba Photographed by U.S. Navy Patrol Plane

Posted August 20, 2004 by publisher in Cuba Politics.

A shipload of Soviet aircraft- possibly twin-jet IL-28 bombers- nears Cuba and is photographed at low altitude by a U.S. Navy patrol plane. The big slatted crates fore and aft seem to contain planes with their wings already attached. There also appear to be aircraft fuselages stowed beside the crates inside the ship’s rails.
