I am looking for a hotel, preferably in Havana Vieja or within walking distance of Capitolio.  Should be clean, with hot & cold running water, air conditioning, fan, attached bathroom, etc.  Price range per room - Convertible Peso or US$35 to 40 per night.  Initially for 2 nights from November 11.  Check out 13 November.  Then again upon return from Isla de Juventud on 17 or 18 November, 2004 for 3 or 4 nights.  Can anyone suggest please?

35-40 dollars a night???.....Forget Cuba and go somewhere in Central America. This is Havana, not “El po dunk” Banana Republic !!!!!....
The elegant but soon to need a facelift Hotel Plaza, abt. 80 USD is the best deal.Do not even show up to Havana without a reservation !!!! Other good Hotels on Parque Central and on the Prado are The Parque Central(hotel),Inglaterra,Sevilla and although not yet open ,the 5 star Saratoga, across from the capitolio…..
You could try the gorgeous Casa del Cientifico on Paseo del Prado…..I think they only have tepid water and only a fan and shared bathrooms.last I saw,55.00 per night. In a gorgeous turn of the century mansion.GOOD LUCK !!!
As for Gerona (Isla de la Juventud)....Good luckX2 !!!!
