Residents of Pinar del Río say water service in the city is now the worst it’s been in living memory, and complain that government officials don’t seem to care and certainly can’t seem to address the problem.

The situation, say residents, is affecting hospitals and polyclinics, that have had to interrupt treatment of patients, in addition to ordinary residents.

The sight of people lugging water buckets from available spigots to
their homes is now a commonplace in the city, many here say.
