Hurricane Charley reportedly did one billion dollars damage to Cuba.  If you have been to Cuba you know how much destruction that amount involves.  Hundreds of thousands are without adequate shelter or the basics of life. With Ivan approaching the western provinces as this is written, urgent relief funds are needed more than ever on the island.  Catholic Relief Services provides dollar for dollar relief in direct assistance,  you may make your contribution to Catholic Relief Services, P.O Box 17090, Baltimore, MD, 21203-7090.  Just note “Hurricane Relief-Cuba” on the check.

On an island where many survive on less than U.S $50 per month, your dollars may mean the difference between life and death, hope and despair….health versus sickness and disease.
