MIAMI - The crew of the Coast Guard cutter Knight Island repatriated 26 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabanas, Cuba, today at 10:00 a.m.

The 26 migrants were picked up from three different vessels found in the Florida Straits between July 2-5, before Hurricane Dennis.

Aboard Coast Guard cutters, all migrants receive food, water and any necessary medical attention. Determination of a migrant’s status is made by the U.S. Government and coordinated by Homeland Security immigration officials.

The Knight Island is 110-foot patrol boat based in St. Petersburg, Fla.
