Another version of the camel bus for mass transit in Cuba.
Comments
The disappearance of the ‘camello’ is kind of sad, representing as it does one unique image of the Cuba we quickly came to love on our first visit in January. However, we must move on, and we’re sure the new Chinese buses will prove to be more efficient.
By the way, in our opinion the changes which would NOT be steps forward would be the abandonment of socialist policies, especially in health, education and state control (if not outright ownership) of industry. For us old socialists, Cuba is the only remaining beacon of light in a darkening world.
Long may you flourish, and may U.S. imperialism NEVER dominate the Cuban economy!
With love from Mick Piggott and Jean Williams.
Posted by Michael Piggott and Jean Williams on 04/22 at 06:22 AMWe were sorry we never got to ride in a camello when we were in Cuba in January.
But it’s good that Cubans will have comfort, convenience and lower pollution instead, thanks to the new Chinese buses, which we did ride.
