That picture brought a lot of memories. Across from the church was the park. There waw a bench (one of many) directly across from the church, in the corner, where we used to wait for the school bus that took us to the American Central School outside Nueva Gerona (I forgot the name of the road where the school was as well as the streets where the church & park were. I lived at the hotel downtown, right across the drugstore owned by the then mayor who had a young teenage son. They were my father’s friends. I have the best memories of my life in that place. Would have given anything if things had remained the same. Nostalgia.............

Posted by Publisher on 12/31 at 04:21 PMDoes anyone out there know and would like to share what happened to the Isle of Pines’ buildings, the American School, Sara Villada Store, Santa Fe Hotel, the Rancho Tesoro resort (developed by Milton Davis & my dad, Armando Diaz, the Hotel downtown on the main street across from the drugstore/home of the mayor, Pedrito & family, the Casa Manana Hotel, the Hilltop motel & Club where I learned how to rock’n’roll to Tutti Frutti, Wake up Little Susie, etc.?
