CARACAS, Venezuela - Cuba’s President Raul Castro is in Venezuela on his first international visit as the country’s leader.
President Hugo Chavez greeted Castro with a hug at the airport just outside Caracas on Saturday.
The two leaders plan to visit the tomb of South American independence hero Simon Bolivar.
They are then expected to discuss various accords during a meeting at the presidential palace.
The 77-year-old Castro took charge of the country in February after his ailing older brother Fidel Castro stepped down.
Fidel Castro is a longtime Chavez ally.
