Skilled workers are building the Playa Laguna Hotel, whose inauguration is scheduled for the first trimester of 2009, in the Cuban beach resort of Varadero.
The 814-room establishment belongs to the group Gaviota and is being built using new organizational and management methods, and state-of-the-art technology.
Construction works, which began in February 2007 at a total cost of 78 million dollars, are being carried out Cuban workers from the Economic Association Arcos BB International, made up of the firms BBI and Arcos de Varadero.
The project, 60 percent of which has been completed, will cover 38,000 square meters in a total area of 13 hectares.
The establishment will consist of modules for rooms, including two five-story, four four-story and four three-story buildings, which will have central air conditioning.
Playa Laguna will be a five-star hotel consisting of a main building where all services will be provided, including four specialized restaurants, theater, party hall and three swimming pool.
NOTE: I own the geodomain PlayaLaguna.com and may develop it as a review site for this hotel. There is a Playa Laguna in the Dominican Republic and one in Puerto Rico.
