My suggestion for the first months after castro’ demise (which many in the island euphemistically refer to now as “cuando se acabe el bloqueo” is like this:
The matter of Property Rights has to be resolved in a case by case basis.
The issue of criminal charges is difficult since many former members of the security forces now live in Miami, like nothing had happened. I personally know of two. One of them was personally involved in hitting and torturing individuals with electricity during the Mariel boatlift.
But the main problem, by far more difficult to solve is the problem of the meaning and viability of a cuban nation. If castro is allowed to die of natural causes, -that is- if not a single cuban man has the balls to put a bullet in castro’ forehead, then the cuban nation will have no reason or right to exist.
What gives a nation its reason to exist is a sense of honor and historical necesity. If that is missing, then cuba will be just another meaningless banana republic.

Don’t hold your breath on Castro’ death. It would not be as easy as they think for the greedy Miami rich oligarchy to take over Cuba or to impose their ideas of USA freedom and democracy (actualy meaning elite creating and cut troat capitalism). Overall the Cubans in Cuba are much better educated and knowledgeable than the miami oligarchy and they will resist imposed changes from abroad. Cuba’ sovereingty means a lot more to Cubans than to Floridians. The great majority of the Cubans in Cuba are peacefull and still see Fidel as their maximum leader. Therefore the violent idea of bullets in forehead (so typical of USA violence propaganda and tendencies)would not be comming from them, perhaps only from a paid CIA vendido.

I’m sorry, but it sounds very sociopathic to me when someone actually states that a nation doesn’t have a right to exist if it doesn’t murder its leader. 

Whatever anyone thinks about Castro, how can anyone declare that a nation doesn’t have a right to exist?  If that isn’t a fundamental right, then the word “right” has no meaning.

God help Cuba if a post-Castro Cuba has the kind of monsters leading it that can make such appalling statements as that one. 

A statement like that can only be made out of ignorance. This is a dangerous person, fortunately harmless since he obviously lacks the courage to follow his own advice.

It is better to live under “cut throat capitalism” than in a country where you are sentenced to 25 years in prison for criticizing the goverment.
