Specialist on Cuba Needed:  I am looking for a research assistant for a brief, and somewhat immediate research project. The primary job responsibility is to complete an extensive online questionnaire about relatively objective, factual information about the political history of Cuba.  The secondary role is to correct errors in other factual data about Cuba that has been collected by research assistants at other institutes.

The ideal candidate will have significant knowledge of 20th-century Cuban politics and history and have an MA or higher degree.  He or she will also assist me in identifying possible Country Experts who can complete various surveys on Cuba.

We expect the job to take 30 hours of work.  We are ready to hire immediately.  We will pay a total of $750 for all of these tasks.  This is part of the “Varieties of Democracy Project,” led by the University of Notre Dame (Michael Coppedge) and the University of Gothenburg, that seeks to generate new indicators of democracy for most countries of the world.
