I was wondering if it’s at all possible to obtain old family records (i.e. birth certificates, marriage certificates, any records of any kind) from Cuba concerning my family. I am currently trying to create a workup of my family lineage as it traces back far in Cuba. Does anyone know where/how I could obtain such documents?

Thank you for the info! I’ve done even further digging and have come across my grandfather’s birth certificate from Cuba. On it it states his father’s name and place of birth as simply “Canarias”. I’ve done numerous searches for his (my great-grandfather) information, however I have not come up with anything. How does one obtain information (birth certificates, marriage….) that did not occur in the USA? In this case it’s Spain.

Once we have the deposit of $250 for the Cuban birth certificate, we put in the order to get the certificate.

What about for requesting a birth certificate of a ancestor from Spain-The Canary Islands- from the website on the page you posted earlier:

Wouldn’t anyone born in Cuba prior to 1898 have a record in Spain? It’s only a thought because Cuba was a territory of Spain at this time
