Hi, I am new here. I have only been to Cuba once and fell in love with the place. I am going back soon but am staying in casas (pinar del rio, vinales & guanabo) this time and not doing the resort thing.

And yes, I will be meeting a cubana. Seeing as I am ready to marry again and I fell for Cuba, I am entertaining the possibilities that may present themselves. This forum caught my attention while I was doing research on the areas I will be visiting.

Anyhow, I read a couple of posts in here the other day about having your cuban mate sign a prenup and it made me think, what would you put in it and what good would it do anyway? Assume the marriage was in Cuba. It was mentioned in a post that in Cuba these things are taken seriously but I still don’t see what can be done if you get “screwed over”.  Thanks

I am not a lawyer, but I was under the impression that a pre-nup would not over-rule Cuban law, though their may be some scope for mutual agreement. Under Cuban law, the assets gained whilst the marriage exists should be divided 50/50.

I suggest that you consult a Cuban lawyer.
