I’ve been doing business in Cuba for more than 10 years. It’s not easy, but its been working for me.

The big question for Tim is simple: Have you ever been to Cuba? Until you visit then nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing means anything…

Cheers,
Terry

What type of business do you do there? (Without being too specific of course)

Oh americans, you like a childrens. Why you decide that cubans wants you to do do busunes in cuba? Why you think that cubans need your assistance? Cuba is full of people who own for example several restorans or taxi company with 40+ cars,  or other business. Club Havana or Marina Hemenguy is full of belongin to cubans (trough nominated persons) expensive yahts.  Why you can´t understand that ´ prohibated ´ not mean that nobody do that.( It´s like in your shit america: it´s illegal to sell cocaine but everybody know who and where sell cocaine, cops get second solary from that , etc). Cuba not want you to do business,  cuba only want you like a tourist,  wants you to spend money in island for cigars, casas, chicas, taxis, paladars, etc.  And expectation for increase of tourism (and revenues from tourism) due to americans is the only one reason for speculation for cubans about american embargo. As regards business - embargo never was, in real life cuba always trade with all world, as well with USA trought canada registrated companys.  All chicken (pollo)  food in cuba made in USA.  Shops are full of china consumer goods and other stuff.  Canadians and spanish develop hotels. Chineses and russians drill for oil.  Everything necessary exist and work.

You are right… Cuba is doing just fine without the USA. Things couldn’t be better…

First of all ,if you wan to do business internationaly , you should recognize that usa is failing impaire and us dollar just a few steps to become a toilet papier. Thats mean that to operate in Cuba you shold calculate in EUR-CUC. A you ready for this ? Do you already have EUR?  And ask yourself -  if you operate business in EUR while you live in US - how much it is fit to you?(with all the trend for possible rising of interes rate of us fed ). why it is important- becose cuba partners will pay you after 360 days(goverment rules) and for a moment noboby knows fed rate after 2 next meating. Thats affect USD-EUR rate, so you can’t predict rate and cant calculate your profit.
But the moust important moment.  moust directors of cuban companys are study in russia, and they definitly know difference betwen european quality(russia) and american(china). That means that they will chouse Russians or Europe against America becouse america always represenr rebranded shit china quality

Cuba is already overwhelmed with Chinese products. Most appliances, TVs, refrigerators, and electronic items in Cuba are from China, and they are very poor quality. So are most buses, bicycles, air conditioners etc.

Anders, your rant about USDs going into the toilet and that EUR is the only way to survive is pretty frigging hilarious with 5 months of hindsight.

Cheers,
Terry
