There are quite a few stories and reports popping up suggesting a thaw in relations between Cuba and America. It is interesting to note a gathering of a head of steam at the time of the 50th anniversary of the cuban revolution and the impending inauguration of Barack Obama on the 20th of January.

Here’s a report published by Vicki Huddleston, Visiting Fellow, Foreign Policy - The Brookings Institution

Entitled - Cuba at Fifty

Also, there some interesting pieces on the BBC’s web site

Meanwhile Raul repeats his desire for direct talks with America whilst also stating that he is not desperate.

Another article here refers to Cuba’s black market housing boom.

Very interesting times.

Thank you for all the links. Good stuff.

There does seem to be a lot of momentum.

Now if Fidel passes away during all this? Wow.
