I tend to disagree with such a generalization. I just returned from Cuba after spending a week with a combination of business and association meetings and a holiday. I found the Cubans to be a very polite, respectful and earnest. Perhaps a joint venture business environment that offers piecework type incentives such as we witnessed in a local cigar factory would prove worthwhile.
You’re bound to find places around the entire globe with people who aren’t interested in working hard. Your real challenge is to find the key team members who can find the good workers and keep them working for you. With more than 35 years in business, I’ve generally found workers right off the farm, or with farming backgrounds as children, to be the best workers.
