Hi Everyone!
I was just reading all of your postings. The reason I’m on this site is because I’m doing a project on the possible future of Cuba for a speech class in college. I’ve been digging around the internet for information on where Cuba will be headed after Castro dies. I’ve got information from magazines and books etc etc, but I think what’ really important is what people think and what they want to see happen for the better of Cuba.

My project focusses on the following cultural areas that will possibly change after Castro’ gone:

Holidays, Social Classes, Marriage, Healthcare advancement, Agricultural changes (or dietary changes in general), education, the arts, economy, and relations with other countries.
I know that no one can predict for sure what the future will bring. But every opinon counts! I would absolutely love to hear what everybody thinks will happen, and if possible maybe even use your thoughts in my paper.

I predict a civil war of some sort.  For no other reason than millions of people will be uprooted from their homes, jobs and security. Their exists fraternities in Miami composed of Cuban American white collar men who have spent the last 40 years planning what they and their dollars will do with Cuba once el commandante is dead.  In order for these plans to build casinos, resorts and plantations to survive-  a mock “independent” government with a president who has already been chosen will have to be iplemented. This plan has the full support of the men who rule the United States today. Hence, civil war is inevitable because Cuban people are some of the most passionate human beings in the world-  both sides are passionate and ready to fight for what they want to see manifest on the island…

No va pasar nada. El cubano es muy tracionero. En Dic del 58 habian mas de un millûn de gente que salieron a la calle para apoyar a Batista. Vino el primero de enero 1959 y la mayoria de esa gente esta vestido de miliciano. Y lo mas comico es que los milicianos y cipayos del Mayoral abundan aqui en la Yuma. Lo necesario es la justicia. El comienzo de la Revolucion de Basura fue bastante sangriento tendra que ser asi en su fin. Eso es justo.
