The website looks glossy but it is out of date B&Y is no longer working as a law firm. They’re more business consultants and as foreign service providers they’re quite limited

My job is to do analysis of the legal market in juridisctions across the world. The site is free and for everyone’s use, we’re not endorsing any of those law firms nor are we paid by them. We speak to clients , peers and other experts/sources operating on a given market and we elaborate the editorial by reflecting the prevailing market opinion

I did not know Berger was out of the legal business. Have you worked with them or know anyone who has? Do you recommend their legal or business services or are they competitors?

Ok, B&Y are not competitors,  my company is not a law firm
As far as I know from talking to sources, B&Y remains in Havana but has decreased its involvement in legal advisory, particularly after several regulatory changes in the legal framework in Cuba: foreign law firms/lawyers were supposed to merge with Cuban institutions or leave, this was 2006.
B&Y partners could never act as lawyers anyway due to Cuban local legislation but as consultants (and very good ones for that matter) for foreign investors, however the firm employed Cuban lawyers that gave the legal advise.
It is my understanding that is no longer the case, but they surely had a top reputation and prestige.
The Cuban business enviroment has changed abruptly in the past 2 years and so have the service providers so it is difficult to find proper counsel.

I have heard good things about Mr. Berger. I think he was/is an investor in The H magazine
