US Dollars or Euros??

i will travel to Havana and Varadero next month, and i would like to know what currency its best to take to Cuba?? Thanks

I don’t think that Cuba uses dollars anymore. You might have to exchange the euros anyway. However, dollars might go further with Cubans for tips etc.

Neither are of any real value in Cuba . Under regulations passed about a year ago all must be converted into CUCs(Cuban convertible currency)The benefit of bringing Euros over dollars is that the Cuban government implemented an additional 10% tax on conversion of dollars to CUCs. So Euros will actually be a better deal for you.

I know this is an old post but how was your trip? Any advice for bringing or exchanging currency in Cuba?
