Bio

Mr. King is a Cuba expert who has spent at least three months a year on the island since 1993. He is a frequent
author, contributor and lecturer on Cuba, he specializes in Cuban culture, history, art, dance, religion and US- Cuban relationships. He holds the rank of Babalawo with Wanaldo in the Afro - Cuban religion of Orisha worship. His literary offerings include: “Traveling Lite” a 88 page travelogue of a father and son golf trip to England and Wales in 2000. The pair
play 22 major second tier courses with no reservations other than two five day flexipasses on the rail system over their five week trip.

“Fidel’s Story” is a screenplay for theater or film with Fidel Castro talking to the American public in his trademark fashion. This history lesson is quite an eye opener and can be adopted to live theater in a one man play. Fidel’s Story is currently optioned to a major production house in Hollywood.

“Nature’s Ancient Religion” is a unique look at the Afro - Cuban faith of Orisha worship and IFA. It is unique in that it is both an autobiographical narrative and shares the nuts and bolts of the world’s seventh largest religion. Unlike most offerings its category it is written for those outside the religion and those new to it. Nature’s Ancient Religion chronicles Mr. King’s spiritual journey from skeptic to high priest and is full of humor, discussions and observations about Orisha worship and IFA. 328 packed pages are full of information and thought provoking revelations. The book has a huge twenty two page discussion on all major offerings by contemporary authors for African and Cuban faiths and it is lovingly illustrated with original artwork. Naturally, it has a glossary and index for easy reference when exploring Nature’s original ” green” or environmentally friendly religion.
