European Film Group Distributes Eastern Cuba Documentary

Posted May 23, 2007 by Arte de Cuba in Cuba Culture.

Neuzeitfilm Solutions of Frankfurt has signed an agreement with Arte de Cuba Publishing to distribute “ Luminous Shadows, The Artists of Eastern Cuba”.  Neuzeitfilm expects to distribute the 45-minute documentary for broadcast and DVD sales in over 20 countries in Europe, Australia,New Zealand and Japan.  The distribution of the film in the EU is a great chance for the artists of this little known region of Cuba to get their artistic message out to the rest of the world.  This comes at a time of great uncertainty in the country and the Eastern Provinces.  The artists featured in the film also have a National Tour of 60 of their paintings now making its’ way across the United States.  Cuba,Oriente: Contemporary Painting from Eastern Cuba is currently being managed by Meridian International Center of Washington D.C..  Meridian shares a dedication to promoting universal understanding through the exchange of ideas and the arts with the Eastern Cuba Cultural Exchange whose mission is to foster an environment of good will through the sharing of art and culture. In describing the motive for his continued passion for his Cuban project the producer of the documentary, Mr. Clyde Hensley says, “working through the arts and cultural exchange offers us a unique opportunity to establish non-judgmental communication between the citizens of our long-divided societies…and helps to bring about an atmosphere of mutual respect which can only help to pave the road to understanding and reconciliation.”
