Simoni Biasci wins Cuba cycling race in stage 3

BAYAMO, Cuba - Italian Simoni Biasci has won the third stage in the Vuelta a Cuba. He beat Bozic Borut and the provisional overall leader Pedro Pablo Perez in the sprint.

The third stage of the Vuelta a Cuba was a 125km long course from Santiago de Cuba to Bayamo. Italian Partizan Whistle rider Simoni Biasci was first to cross the finish line, outsprinting Perutnina Ptuj’s Bozic Borut and Cuban Pedro Pablo Perez. Caico Profesional CT’s Eudaldo Asencio finished fourth ahead of Alien Garcia of Ciego De Avila.

Pedro Pablo Perez now leads in the general classification with an advantage of 6 seconds over Cuban Michel Fernandez. Slovenian Bozic Borut follows in third spot, 8 seconds behind Perez. Venezuelan Jackson Rodriguez and Partizan Whistle’s Simoni Biasci are respectively fourth and fifth at 10 seconds.
