A top U.S. rock band, Audioslave, announced Wednesday it will give a free, open-air concert on the Havana waterfront this week.

The group’s promoters said in a news release that the Friday event “will be the first open-air concert by a U.S. rock band in Cuba,” though groups of other nationalities have given such concerts.

The group broke away from a tour promoting its new album to travel to Cuba.

Are they travelling on a US Treasury license or under a hosted tour license with a specific itinerary?

Of course I am happy to see any US citizen travel to Cuba but also wonder why some can travel without any problem from OFAC.

Any thoughts?

It appears that OFAC could be moody, selective or discriminatory just like its boss at the White House who may be excusing Posada Carriles from the global war on terrorism. To many people and nations it is clear that US foreign policy has plenty of double standards? What a shame, such a great nation under God.
