Cuban Artist Jorge PÈrez DuportÈ featured in Pinar del Rio

La Oficina Gallery, in western Pinar del Río province, is hosting an exhibition by Cuban artist Jorge Perez Duporte.

The exhibition, held at Las Terrazas community, consists of 13 artworks by the renowned Cuban painter, who highlights his work in favor of nature.

According to experts, Perez Duporte’s exhibition includes the paintings “Flora Martiana” (Martí‘s Flora), “Frutos de Este Reino” (Fruits from This Kingdom) and “Homenaje a Carpentier” (Tribute to Carpentier), in which he recreated the ecological environment described by the two outstanding Cuban authors.

The exhibition, entitled “Duporte, a Man from Guantánamo in Las Terrazas”, includes other paintings like “La Majagua”, “La Habana Vista por un Turista Cubano” (Havana Seen by a Cuban Tourist), “Mackandal” and “Viaje a la Semilla” (Trip to the Seed).

Duporte’s curriculum includes more than 40 exhibitions, in addition to being a prominent promoter of environmental education.

His paintings are in collections in several countries, and in 1998, he painted “Flos Passionis” for Pope John Paul II.
