DTC News.- Cuban Baseball Superleague’s Teams Announced

Havana.- The lineup of the four baseball teams that will compete in Cuba’s Superleague, including the best 100 players during the recently-concluded national championship, was announced.

Cuban baseball officials pointed out that the players’ performance in the tournament will allow them to make a final decision about the members of the national team that will participate in the Pan-American Games in Santo Domingo.

The official schedule of the 2nd Superleague will consist of 21 games from Tuesdays to Sundays, leading to a five-game final series.
Occidentales, which will be coached by Armando Johnson, includes the Olympic infielders Yobal Dueñas and Michel Enríquez, outfielder Jose Estrada and pitcher Pedro Luis Lazo.

Habaneros, which will be coached by Rey Vicente Anglada, who led Industriales to win the recently-concluded national championship, includes Antonio Scull and Oscar Macías, who also made up Cuba’s Olympic team.
Narciso Ferrer will coach Centrales, which includes the Olympic pitchers Maels Rodríguez and Yosvani Aragon, as well as Eduardo Paret.

Finally, Orientales, coached by Carlos Martí, will include the Olympic outfielders Rey Isaac and Roberquis Videaux, as well as the pitchers Norge Luis Vera, Vicyoandri Odelín and Ormari Romero.
